Eddie H. Brabston

Eddie H. Brabston, age 92, of Rutledge, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at his home. He was born July 25, 1933, to the late Jesse and Trula Brabston. Eddie was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church and was always happy to share his testimony of salvation, and he wanted to ask people if they knew Jesus.
Eddie was a lifelong resident of Grainger County but worked for over 35 years at the U.S. Steel zinc mine in Jefferson City. Through the years, he was always busy working, whether mowing, farming, working at a sawmill, or driving a school bus.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Trula Brabston; brothers, Walter, William, Henry, Johnny, and Sam; sisters, Louise Bates and Minnie Pipkin; first wife of 31 years, Helen Brabston; and second wife of 14 years, Naomi Ruth Brabston.
Eddie is survived by his sons, Jackie Brabston (Myranda) of Knoxville and Scott Brabston of Rutledge; daughter, Kim Helton (David) of Rutledge; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Blazier (Felix) and Betty Debose; several nieces, nephews; and many other family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a funeral service to follow 7:00 pm at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market, with Rev. Stacey Lawson and Rev. David Helton officiating. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 4th, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
